Capt. Calvin Dufrene

Dufrene’s Guide Service was started in 1974 by Calvin Dufrene in the marshes of Golden Meadow Louisiana. Calvin was the 2nd full-time saltwater guide in the state of Louisiana. Over the years as the business grew and a long list of satisfied customers returned to fish with Calvin, he realized had business than he could handle with one boat.

Capt. Chad Dufrene

After receiving his Bachelors of Science & Masters of Science and teaching and coaching for 10 years at the University of Southern Mississippi and the public school systems in Mississippi and Alabama the lure of the marshes called Chad back to Louisiana. In the spring of 1998 Chad Dufrene joined his father to pioneer his own legacy in the guiding business. In 2014 after 40 years as a full time charter captain Calvin Dufrene retired from guiding. In 2014 Capt. Chad Dufrene moved the business to the marshes of St. Bernard Parish to the fishing village of Delacroix Louisiana. Delacroix Louisiana is known for a vast fishing area with public access to all the marsh and great catches of redfish, speckled trout, black drum, sheepshead and bass.
